Abstract

Air pollution is an increasing global health problem that significantly affects various organs, including the skin. The human face, being directly exposed to environmental pollutants, undergoes a series of pathological changes due to air pollution. The aim of this paper is to discuss the mechanisms through which air pollution affects facial skin, focusing on pathophysiological processes, clinical symptoms, and aesthetic implications. Based on selected reports, the results of various studies on oxidative stress, inflammatory responses, and changes associated with the skin aging process are presented. Additionally, suggestions for potential therapeutic approaches for facial skin aimed at mitigating the effects of air pollution, including aesthetic aspects, are discussed.
